Archival Library
Did your ancestors come from the Salmon Brook section of Simsbury, CT
(now Granby, CT)?
The Salmon Brook Historical Society in Granby is
building a climate controlled archive to preserve and protect the
family deeds, diaries, letters and other documents in our care, as
well as our extensive genealogy files and library.
We need your help to preserve these valuable archives. Our present
archives are crowded into two small rooms of a 1790 building. File drawers and
bookshelves are crammed full and boxes are piled to the ceiling. Our
only climate control is the weather.

The Salmon Brook Historical Society is building "The Preservation
Barn," a two and a half story, 40 foot by 80 foot fireproof metal
building. It will have climate controlled library, archive and storage rooms, as well as
expanded exhibit space. The Society has already raised $200,000 for
the building, and needs to raise an additional $200,000.
Your contribution will ensure the safety and availability of your
family genealogy records now and for future researchers.
The Salmon Brook Historical Society has selected donor categories,
